Academy Instructor Certification Course (AICC)

Description

This course develops law enforcement instructors’ training delivery, adult learning, planning, presentation, and facilitation skills. It is intended for all California law enforcement trainers including, those teaching regular basic courses, in-service, advanced officer, and public safety dispatch training. Students will gain facilitation skills and an understanding of how to employ adult learning methodologies appropriate for various law enforcement topics. This course meets the CCR 11 § 1070 basic instructional skills training requirement to teach in the POST Regular Basic Course. This class is also designated as Level I of the POST Instructor Development Institute (IDI) and is a requirement for those wishing to progress through the IDI program.

Designed For

This course is ideal for seasoned instructors as well as new instructors who are ready to employ more effective and advanced instructional concepts in the classroom.

Requirements:

Preference is given to those affiliated with a Regular Basic Academy and who are attempting to satisfy
CCR 11 § 1070. Participants are asked to bring a laptop or tablet and any existing lesson plans for the courses they teach.

Certification

A Certificate and a POST Competency Verification will be issued upon completion.
