Course Information

Description

S-230 Crew Boss: Training for the single resource boss position from initial dispatch through demobilization to the home unit. Topics include operational leadership, preparation and mobilization, assignment preparation, risk management, entrapment avoidance, safety and tactics, offline duties, demobilization, and post incident responsibilities.

S-231 Engine Boss: Designed to produce student proficiency in the performance of the duties associated with ENGB. Topics include engine and crew capabilities and limitations, information sources, fire size-up considerations, tactics, and wildland/urban interface.

Prerequisites

  1. S-290 (In-Person Training Only) and
  2. Qualified as a Fire Fighter Type 1 (FFT1)

Fee Information
$299.00 No refund will be given if the student does not attend and/or cancels 13 (or less) calendar days prior to the start of class. Cancellations must be e-mailed to firereservations@theacademy.ca.gov. Students will be required to register with Cabrillo College for the Spring Term. Upon confirmation of registration, students will need to e-mail requested forms to firereservations@theacademy.ca.gov and the originals will be collected on the first day of the class.
