Description

Intended to prepare students for The Santa Cruz County Regional Joint Fire Academy, generally offered during the Spring Term. The preparation course will include classroom lecture and hands on training.

Objectives

  • Identify the requirements necessary to become a recruit firefighter, describe fire department duties and identify firefighter safety objectives
  • Describe the characteristics and functions of tools and equipment used in the fire service
  • Physical training, conditioning and nutritional education for firefighters
