Description

Drug Abuse Recognition will teach how to skillfully recognize and properly evaluate a person under the influence of drugs; from the initial observation of the vehicle to the arrest and processing of the subject. Understand enforcement’s role in general deterrence. Understand the 7 step administration of the Drug Abuse Recognition process. Understand the Drug abuse Recognition system, the use of pupilometers and pen lights, drug physiology and pharmacology, drug identification and methods of use, recognition of drug signs and symptoms, drug paraphernalia, dangers of confronting subjects under the influence, and legal issues. Understand requirements for organizing and presenting testimonial and documentary evidence in under the influence cases. Learn to administer and interpret the 7 step test and to understand how drugs impair one’s ability to operate a vehicle. Understand in depth the 8 categories of drugs, signs and symptoms.
